As I write this blog post about time management, I’m smiling (and crying) inside at the irony of it all. The fact is, I’m sitting down to write at 12:30 a.m. because I have “no time” during daylight hours to write. But in all seriousness, I know I’m not alone in this, as we mamas juggle many things every day, constantly trying to do it all.
My daughter was six years old when she came home from school and asked to be #homeschooled.
I did not always want to homeschool. I went to school for chemical engineering and worked in the field. I worked at a plant then became a training manager. When we began seriously thinking about homeschooling, I was pregnant with our third child. I knew I was leaving my current employer, but I was disappointed when the only opportunities that chased me—literally—were part-time.

What day is it again? I don’t know about you guys but since about April my days have been running all together. COVID has really forced us to value the use of our time. The day of the week isn’t as important as how the day is spent. Time management is important now more than ever.
You might be in a season of hustle that makes no sense to anybody else on how you’re managing or plan to do it all and I want you to know that you aren’t crazy or alone. There is a community of homeschooling single parents that are doing the very same thing with a specialized twist to it.

I have quit homeschooling in my head so many times it's not even funny anymore. But the joy of seeing my daughter learning something that I know she would not have learned at school keeps me motivated. Also, I am not a quitter.
