The Lyceum Scholars Program at Clemson University, is a new and unique $10,000 scholarship for incoming freshmen to study the moral, political, and economic foundations of a free society. They have found that homeschool students are excellent candidates for the Lyceum Scholars Program and many of their current Scholars come from a homeschool background.
Lyceum Scholars take eight classes together as an intellectual cohort during their undergraduate career. They read the Great Books of Western Civilization and discuss timeless questions such as:
- What makes a society free?
- What makes a society prosperous?
- What are the principles of the American Founding?
The Lyceum Scholars Program recreates the substance and value of a traditional liberal arts education, which is sadly missing from many of today’s colleges.
More information about the Program is available on their website and students may apply here.
